How to use the Tech Center
If you already know the material, use the Materials section to review its structure, supply format and limitations. If you know the shape of the part, start with Product Forms. If your project begins with a load case, assembly or production method, use Applications or Processes.
Each article ends with the input data you need and a link to a current category or request form. Technical guidance stays separate from prices, availability and confirmation of a specific item.
Main principle of selection
The name of the material in itself does not determine the result. An informed choice requires the direction and nature of the load, geometry, supports, cutouts, connection method, operating environment, surface requirements and available processing technology.
If some of the data is unknown, there is no need to select material according to one popular parameter. Submit the task, dimensions, quantity and available files: CORDTEX will clarify the missing conditions and suggest a format for further verification.
Quick route for the first project
| What we already know | Where to start | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
| It is necessary to make a part from layers | Define reinforcement, binder and accessible process | Materials: carbon fabric or prepreg |
| Need a flat plate or panel | Describe contour, supports, load, holes and processing | Product forms: carbon sheet |
| Need a long element | Specify the length between supports, cross-section, internal passage and connection | Product forms: tube or rod |
| FPV frame being designed | Start with layout, components, load scenario and repair | Application: FPV and UAV |
| There is a part file for cutting | Check units, contour, material, quantity and edge criteria | Technologies: milling and CNC machining |
| We need to compare two solutions | Set the same function and a single verification method | Comparisons and material selection |
If this is your first time encountering the terms laminate, prepreg, matrix, or layer map, start with the FAQ: there is a short glossary and an example request.
What the Tech Center gives – and what it doesn’t promise
The Technical Center helps to translate everyday descriptions into an engineering statement of the problem, compare delivery forms and prepare data for a conversation with a supplier or production. It shows the selection restrictions and indicates the next commercial step: category, contact details or a request form.
The article is not a material datasheet, calculation of a specific design or process specification. Current dimensions, availability, price, modes, tolerances and documents are confirmed for the selected item and batch. If the data is insufficient, the correct outcome is to ask for clarification, a sample, or a test, rather than to substitute a generic number.
The guide is useful to procurement teams, engineers and people new to composites. It explains the terms, shows which parameters belong in a specification and gives a clear sequence of actions. Safety-critical designs still require qualified engineering and verification.
Frequently asked questions
Where to start if the material has not yet been selected?
Start with the task: purpose of the part, geometry, load, operating conditions, quantity and manufacturing method. This data is more important than the pre-selected material name.
Can I get a recommendation from a photo alone?
A photo helps to understand the layout, but is not usually a substitute for dimensions, load descriptions, and connection requirements. Additional input data will be required for engineering review.
Where can I see prices and availability?
Tech Center does not duplicate commercial tables. Use the links to the appropriate category or send a single request to confirm the position and delivery conditions.
Is it possible to send a drawing?
Yes. In the task form, you can attach an available drawing or model and describe the purpose, quantity and acceptance criteria.
